Parallels between aviation and motorsport have been drawn for a long time. The thrill and exhilaration that both can produce has kept people enchanted for many years and will continue to do so long into the future. Lord March has taken his passion for speed and beauty to create the world’s foremost motorsport event, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, to which we now add the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition. Come and join us for a celebration of speed and beauty.
Due to popular demand the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition will this year be part of the Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show, and will be positioned directly adjacent to the main show.
The Goodwood Aviation Exhibition brings a long over due vibrancy to showcasing what the UK and Europe has to offer in the Aviation Industry. Whether you are an established pilot, learning to fly, or just have an interest in aircraft this is the place for you.
The Goodwood Aviation Exhibition has been driven by demand for a strong aviation industry exhibition, with almost a third of the 180,000 people attending the Festival of Speed last year, having a private pilot’s licence, chartering aircraft or having a very strong interest in aviation.
Running in conjunction with the Festival of Speed over a 4 day period, there will be a host of sights to see every day, including static aircraft displays and flying displays. Make a short break of it and enjoy a stay in one of the many local hotels. Or why not camp on one of the numerous sites situated around the exhibition? |

Celebration of transportation
Since its introduction in 1993, the Festival of Speed has grown to become the world’s leading celebration of transportation for enthusiasts, with the prime focus being automotive, but other modes of transport also being celebrated, from pedal cycles and soap boxes, right through to high speed boats and aircraft. The event last year attracted more than 180,000 visitors. Previous year’s air displays have included the Red Arrows and the UK public debut of the Air Bus A380 in flight – being one of the most popular attractions.
During the Festival of Speed more than 200 aircraft fly into the Goodwood Aerodrome each day, with the pilots and passengers able to enjoy some hospitality on arrival and departure, take in the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition.
Lord March on aviation
Commenting on the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition, Festival of Speed founder Lord March says; “I am very encouraged with the fantastic response we received to the inaugural Exhibition here with enthusiastic support and interest from the aviation industry. I am confident that aviation will play a major part at the Festival for many years to come as a must attend element of the event where the very latest aircraft models and technical developments can be seen in a stunning setting and relaxed environment.”
More details about the Goodwood Aviation Show, as well as the 2012 Festival of Speed, will be announced over the coming months.
